my what a difference 8 weeks make

Today marks 8 weeks since starting my new clean eating life, I kept thinking it was 12 and was proud of all I have accomplished but today realized it is 8 and that makes me just a little bit more proud. Total weight loss is 28.9 lbs and 19.3 in. I realize that anyone can lose weight and I am not doing something tremendously out of the norm, but for me this has been a 38 year struggle of self loathing and hate and depression that has kept me morbidly obese. It was not due to being lazy, it was due to feeling so inadequate and wanting to protect myself from ever being hurt again and thinking being overweight was the solution. In many ways I think until recently a very big part of me was that scared and hurt 14 year old.

I want to first thank family, friends, co-workers and even people on my social media that I have never met, without you, your support, your words of encouragement and the sharing of your struggles i would not be as far along in this journey as I am.

I decided to go through some old boxes of clothes to see if any fit yet. I cannot believe how man did but the downside was I waited too long and a ton are too big!  YAY/BOO these are too big —–>pants1

I spent the weekend prepping for the month and going for walks.

I have been enjoying walking but shin splints are winning the battle so needing to stretch and try to nip it in the bud! I cannot believe I ordered compression socks but they are supposed to help so I am game!

I am less than 2 pounds away from being in the 240’s I am sooooo excited!
